4.2 Two-Tank System

4.2.1 Description of the System

The plant is composed of two interconnected tanks, two pumps that provide the flow rates and , two level sensors , , five flow-rate sensors for the measurements of , , , and and three valves. This two-tank system is illustrated in Fig. 4.2 [117]. The control inputs to the plant are the voltages , applied to the pumps and the voltage for the throttling of the interconnection valve. The flows and are mixed through the valves located at the output of the tanks.
